During his junior year in college, Mohamed converted to Islam. As a student of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, upon graduation, Mohamed went overseas to study the Islamic sciences for four years in Syria, Morocco and Mauritania with some of the most renowned legal and spiritual scholars of the Muslim world. He spent his final two years with Murabit al Hajj in the Saharan Desert. After studying abroad and becoming fluent in Arabic, Mohamed returned to the U.S. and obtained a master's degree in business (MBA).

Mohamed enjoys surfing, fashion, technology, basketball, triathlons and reading Classic American Literature. Born and raised in Southern California, he currently resides in Europe and the US while traveling throughout the world for business and speaking engagements.
